After living in Bangkok for a summer a few years ago, I fell in love with the land of smiles. The food, the people and the endless things to do have me coming back about once a year. This year I was craving more beach than city vibe so I headed to Phuket for more R&R. Since I was only in Bangkok for a few days, I’ll share a few of my favorites.
Bangkok is a wonderful place and there’s much more to it than the Khao San road hangover type things.
My favorite place to stay is the St. Regis. The location is great and on the BTS line which I think is crucial since traffic is horrific! Another great area is Thong Lor because of the endless bars and restaurants
Issaya Siamese Club- The cutest little house and garden with some of the best food! A can’t miss for sure !
I know it sounds strange to eat a burger in Thailand but if you have the craving, check out Game Over. Their burgers are delicious!! It beats most of the burgers in the US even. It’s a fun, chill place to come with friends, have a beer and play games. Don’t forget the truffle fries and extra of their secret spread.
For a beautiful sit down Thai dinner, visit Paste at Gaysorn
If you want a little Japan while you’re in Bangkok, go to Sushi Ichi for an intimate tokyo-esque sushi meal.
For drinks, head over to the bar Iron Balls for a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and their very own special gin.
Surface is another great place to meet friends for drinks. Thank you to all my friends who came to see me in the short period I was there!!
Bangkok has ENDLESS things to do..really! You will never be bored. Stay tuned for a more thorough guide on one of my favorite cities!
The other amazing thing about Bangkok is that it’s only an hour plane ride to some of the most beautiful islands in the world. While I did not go island hopping this time, I did stay at my favorite place, Sri Panwa. You really can’t go wrong with staying here!
To wake up to views like this, sip fresh coconuts and feast on delectable thai dishes was bliss.
If you’re not staying at the hotel, make sure to at least head to Baba Nest for cocktails and a great view 🙂
…Or have a beautiful lunch by the main pool 🙂
For a change of scenery, we made the hike to Nikki Beach Phuket
A very special thanks to Sovifit for my beautiful yoga set to match my beautiful scenery. I was even more grateful to be able to practice on my mat that day 🙂 Check out their stuff on sovifit.com ! They plant a tree for every product purchased!
Going to miss this summer!
